Pre-Decapitation Edition Update 2.0.18372 Patch Notes


  • Enabled multiplayer cross play between Steam and Epic Games versions of RUNE II on the same version number.
  • Fix to Progression Items. 
    • This prevents show stopper issues if your inventory was full or you missed the item.
  • Undo pickup spline fix that causes things to fall through terrain at times.
    • Now it floats, which we think is an acceptable alternative to items falling completely under the map forever.
  • God Statues have more health
  • Arrows now hit the dead center of the reticle at shorter ranges and have gravity in longer ranges
  • Fixed archer towers having wall hacks and aimbots. 
  • Updated co-op revive to give 70/50/30/10% HP on Easy/Normal/Hard/Ragnarok, with an 8/6/4/3s invulnerability window.
  • Enemy XP is now divided up among players in co-op instead of awarding total XP
  • Increased boss difficulty from VP1-3 based on community feedback
  • Added error messages when UPNP isn’t working as intended, your password is wrong, or the player you’re trying to connect to doesn’t have their ports open.

  • Outer islands now have a lot more detail and things to party with.
  • Added abilities to Einn Elite characters
  • Added Ambient Cave audio. 
  • Added “Target Dummy” to provide DPS feedback 
  • Fixed Allies and followers not attacking enemies and bosses correctly. 
  • Added kill volumes beneath all dungeons
  • Removed Baby Boars
  • Fixed weirdness in Nomad and Drunk Georgie quests
  • Fixed an issue where Pedr wouldn’t stay dead. 
  • Fixed mismatching dialogue


  • Fixed AI in co-op always being bald


  • Increased boss difficulty from VP1-3 based on community feedback
  • Adjusted boss scaling to be tougher based on number of players in the session.
  • Added water to VP3.
  • Sped up the Surtblood wave in VP2
  • Rebalanced FINAL BOSS (LOKI) fight.
    • Any weapon can kill him now, but certain weapons will ignore his shield. 
    • His shield now regenerates 15-20s after going down.
    • Scales to be harder on higher difficulties


  • Increased Speed on Thrown Items 
  • Reduced Lunge Animation End Timings to allow for faster follow ups on knockdowns from lunge attacks.
    • 2h Axe/Hammers: 3.1s >> 2.75s
    • 2h Swords: 3.1s >> 2.5s
    • 1h weapons: 3.1s >> 2s
    • 2h Spear/Polearms: 3.1s >> 2s
  • Increased hit range of 2h Axes
  • Throwable weapons are easier to hit with and do 3x damage on impact
  • Disallow starting sprint when stamina is below 30%
  • God tokens now reset all cooldowns for that god’s skills. 
    • Use all your skills, hit your god token, use all your skills again for maximum damage!
  • Added Sacred Gear. 
    • Allmetal recipes up to Level 15. 
    • You will get one weapon or armor recipe a level. 
    • They have the stats of weapons 3 levels ahead of them.


  • Fixed ENDURANCE SKILL to work properly on bow draw stamina drain


  • Fixed adventure panel visual tearing
  • Fixed cutoff vault slots in different aspect ratios
  • Fixed modal boxes getting swallowed by radial menus and soft locking UI.


  • Mods may roll on items incorrectly.
  • Weapon icons may show incorrect elemental effects.
  • Weapons may appear stuck in your hand
    • Quit to the main menu and reopen your game to resolve (remember to attune to the closest bifrost gate!)
  • Gated items and skills may appear locked on the level you can start to wield them
    • This is a visual bug, they are still wieldable.
  • We are investigating a rare edge case issue where AMD processors may experience performance issues for a few moments.
