RUNE II Update 1.1.14285 Patch Notes 

 

General Fixes:

  • Greatly increased optimization on graphics, sound, and engine.
  • Fixed a fatal error crash that occurred when the player entered ragdoll mode in the same frame that physics was enabled.
    • Previously, jumping while getting killed == hard crash.
    • Now, jumping while getting killed == no crash!
  • Fixed an issue where crashing would revert your save back to the beginning of the current Age.

 

Ages of Ragnarok:

  • Increased length Ragnarok Timer in all ages. 
  • In preparation for future updates, we have hidden the Ragnarok Timer.
    • The timer is still running silently in the event that you cannot complete the artifact quests within a given age.
  • Adjusted visuals in the Age of Night.
  • Adjusted weather patterns in the Age of Frost.

Combat:

  • Increased the frequency enemies can be dismembered and gibbed.
    • Corpse explosions everywhere!
  • Fixed an issue preventing Conrack the Betrayer from dealing fire damage.

 

User Interface and User Experience:

  • Overhauled rebuildable structure widget.
    • Building widget now appears in the lower right side of the screen above the hotbar.
  • Removed the ability to build one-by-one. Pressing USE (E) will now contribute as many materials as possible at once.
  • Moved Vanity camera from Shift >> H.
  • Vanity camera free look is now a toggle.
  • Vanity camera free lock is disabled when the player starts moving.
  • Restored map fog of war at 50% opacity.
  • Fixed an issue preventing the salvaging UI from showing correctly.
  • Updated the “CONFIRM” button in the server browser to correctly point to https://rune2.com/servers 

 

Player specific:

  • Added “unstuck” functionality if you get stuck. Press Z once to unstuck, press and hold Z twice to suicide.

 

Loki:

  • Increased time between Loki saying “GET OUT” and you actually getting thrown out after fighting Loki.

 

Villages and Villagers:

  • Added specific gifts to Village Woodcutters and Village Miners
  • Updated range that unbuilt buildings prompt you to add material.
  • Fixed an issue causing duplicate longhouses in Thor’s Village.
  • Updated villager names.
  • Added additional audio volumes to village buildings.

Weapons:

  • Added Woodcutter axe and Pickaxe.

 

Enemy Loot:

  • Updated loot outcomes on all enemies.
  • Updated Hyrm’s loot table to only drop Hrym’s Greatsword and Allmetal.
  • Adjusted size and pickup radius of items.
    • MEAD BIGGER IT WAS TOO SMALL.
    • Giants big, therefore giant blood big.

 

Player Loot:

  • Updated chest locations throughout Midgard.
    • No more loot falling off the edge of a cliff!
  • Wood from knocking over trees now spawns at the base of the tree.

 

Systems:

  • Removed “HUNGRY” text.
  • Disabled freezing system.

 

Multiplayer Co-op Campaign:

  • Updated network smoothing settings for players.
  • This should lead to more natural animations while on a server.

Art:

  • Updated RUNE II menu logos.
  • Updated RUNE II logo in opening movie.
  • Smoothed out the path on Old Wotenkeld island between the Bifrost Gate and the first Longhouse.

 

Animations:

  • Updated 2-Handed spin attack animations.

Artifacts and Progression:

  • Removed all negative effects from holding artifacts.
  • Edited text in Path of the Forester to clarify goals 
    • Harvest trees to complete this side-quest.
  • Fixed an issue preventing auto-save from executing correctly.
  • Updated recipe unlocks at player levels. You now unlock all weapon recipes on their associated level besides Realm weapons.
  • Fixed an issue preventing players from aligning to a god when they did not have an alignment.
  • Updated wording on cooking quest within Old Wotenkeld Island.
  • Updated first sword and first armor piece you receive on Old Wotenkeld Island.
  • Re-added Copper Spear to starting recipes

 

Known issues:

  • Standing on the left side of an unbuilt farmhouse may cause players to become trapped in geometry once built. To unstuck yourself, fast travel out using a bifrost gate on your map.
  • Items incorrectly state that you can learn the recipe to craft them by salvaging them. Recipes are correctly learned by reading lorestones.
  • Weapon icons may show incorrect elemental effects.
  • Villager dialog is too loud in multiplayer.
  • God dialog may play over villager dialog.
  • Villager dialog may use the wrong voice over.
  • Rapidly dodging occasionally causes an in the air ‘ninja’ roll.
  • We are investigating a rare edge case issue where AMD processors may experience performance issues for a few moments.
  • May experience compatibility issues with old save files.
